Confined space - 2 days - High Risk
Purpose:
To train participants in skills needed for work in small enclosed spaces, including planning, risk assessment evacuation of a colleague in a harness, or on a stretcher, using lanyards, safety lines or fall-arrest blocks. Participants must select suitable equipment for themselves for lowering and hauling up, be able to use it correctly and administer first aid.
Objectives
Identification of confined spaces and the risks that may be involved.
Ability to identify risks and minimise them.
To be able to work in confined spaces.
To be able to plan work in confined spaces.
To be able to carry out evacuation and begin rescue of a colleague using the correct rescue equipment.
To be able to select suitable safety equipment for entering confined spaces and to use the equipment correctly.
To be able to use escape respirators
To be able to use full respiratory protection (compressed air unit)
Ability to work in a Confined Space using full respiratory protection equipment.
Ability to use portable and manual gas detectors.

Participants:
Minimum 4 and maximum of 12 participants.
Course place:
North Jutland Fire Department, Training center.
Dress:
Practical clothes (workwear).
Requirements:
Basic fall protection course.
